One of Robert Parker's Napa darlings, the Cabernet Sauvignon from the Keenan Estate have been very impressive over the past few vintages. This beautiful winery located in Spring Mountain, is nestled in the Mayacamas Range, known for producing deeply rich and concentrated wines. The coastal fog, which covers the Napa Valley floor many mornings during the growing season, seldom reaches the top of Spring Mountain giving Keenan's estate vineyard several hours of additional sunlight each day. In addition, the elevation keeps temperatures, on average 8-10 degrees cooler all year which further results in later bud break and harvest than vineyards located on the valley floor. Their 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is composed of 75% of Keenan’s Spring Mountain Estate, with the remainder of the fruit harvested from Pope Valley, a premier growing region located in the eastern portion of Napa, which adds complex aromas and a balanced mid-palate. We've been drinking this wine the past five vintages, as it's one of Napa Valley's best values in premium Cabernet Sauvignon for under $50 a bottle!
"Blackberry, black-olive and crushed-stone aromas. Graphite, too. Full-bodied with density and depth. Solid structure and richness. All estate cabernet sauvignon with 20% Pope Valley. 2023 release. Drink after 2025" James Suckling, 94 Points
