Here at The Wine Buyer, we love the wines of Hector Durigutti. He consistently makes some of the best value reds in the world, and has been featured numerous times on the prestigious Wine Spectator Top 100 list. One of our favorites is the H.D. Old Vines Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve from heritage vineyards in Altamira, planted in 1934, and one of the best places in the world to make these high elevation reds. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged in concrete eggs and third use French oak, if you're a fan of his other labels Clos d'Argentine, Alma de Los Andes or Los Bocheros, you'll immediately sense the Durigutti signature style, vibrant flavors of ripe blackberries, woven together with layers of floral and cedar notes.
"Aromas of cassis and cherry chocolate with hints of licorice, vanilla and spiced cedar. It is polished and refined on the juicy, berry-soaked palate. Tannins are fine-grained and well-integrated. Lingering finish. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Vegan. Drink or hold." James Suckling, 92 Points
