Hartford Family Winery is a family-owned winery located in the Russian River area of Sonoma County, specializing in single-vineyard Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Zinfandel. The Four Hearts is sourced exclusively from Tom Dehlinger's vineyard on Laguna Ridge, planted to heirloom clones of Chardonnay and is one of the oldest plantings of Chardonnay in the Russian River. The 2019 has a weighty texture, with spicy and layered flavors, with a brightness that reflects the cool climate origins of the vineyards. Barrel fermented in French oak barrels and complete full malolactic fermentation with bi-monthly lees stirring build the rich and weighty mid-palate, followed by a very long exotic, mineral-infused finish. Don't miss one of the best Four Hearts Chardonnay to date!
"Another Russian River release, the 2019 Chardonnay Four Hearts Vineyard brings plenty of ripe tropical fruit as well as medium to full body, a supple, layered mouthfeel, nicely integrated acidity, and building spice, toast, and green almond nuances. It's another thrilling, brilliant Chardonnay from this estate." Jeb Dunnuck, 96 Points
"The 2019 Chardonnay Four Hearts Vineyard was 100% barrel fermented in French oak barrels, 31% new, and aged for 9.5 months. It strides confidently out of the glass with bold, ripe pear and peach notes, plus wafts of pineapple, wet clay, honey toast and fennel seed and a touch of nutmeg. Medium-bodied, the palate is refreshing with a slight phenolic grip to the texture and a long, steely finish." The Wine Advocate, 94 Points
"Lushly tropical with a richness of crème brûlée, this wine is made from several sites in the Laguna Ridge neighborhood of the appellation. Generous oak supports the layering opulence and spiciness, offering a voluptuous expression of the grape." The Wine Enthusiast, 94 Points
