Maison Louis Bernard, headquartered in Gigondas, was founded in 1976 in the heart of the Southern Rhone Valley. Over the last 50 years they have gathered together over thirty grapegrowers under their umbrella, producing a range of very reliable, tasty wines from throughout the valley. Their Cotes du Rhone Villages is produced from a blend of Grenache and Syrah, with loads of ripe strawberry and raspberry fruits, medium-bodied richness and a peppery, spicy style on the palate that makes it a joy to drink. It’s a terrific value at this price to buy by the case and enjoy over the coming 2-3 years.
"Dark, brooding fruit and earth tones on the nose lead to nicely ripe, silky and concentrated black cherry, dark plums and black pepper notes on the palate. Well balanced with an undercurrent of integrated tannins." The Wine Buyer, 91 Points
