Here at The Wine Buyer, we love the Carinena region of Spain, known for producing highly rated 90+ point reds that can be generally found for a bargain. Manadero is one of these charming reds, produced from old vines in Aragon, traditionally trained "en vaso," or goblet shaped, from some of the best sites in the region. 70% Garnacha, 24% Carignan, and 6% Syrah, aged 12 months in a combination of 50% used French oak barrels and 50% used American oak barrels. There is a rich texture to Manadero which some customers have likened to a "baby Priorat" with crushed berry, chocolate and licorice flavors. Only 15 cases left of this 92 Point vintage. Amazing for $12.99!
"Lots of crushed-berry and floral aromas with some lavender. Very aromatic. Medium to full body and round, creamy tannins. Fruity and delicious. Flavorful finish. Drink or hold." James Suckling, 92 Points
