The most famous red wine made in Tuscany is Brunello di Montalcino. 100% Sangiovese aged five years after harvest, the estate of Poggiotondo is located in the heart of Montalcino, between the stunningly gorgeous Val d'Arbia and Val d'Orcia. Known for their ripe, powerful aromas, with an underlying intensity and weight, Poggiotondo is a great wine to launch our 2019 Brunello di Montalcino campaign. One of the finest vintages of this generation, and arguably the best since the epic 2010, the 2019 vintage is setting a new standard for Montalcino's modern era. Dominated by flavors of freshly picked blueberries, this modern styled Brunello develops aromas of red fruits, with violet and black cherry notes, rising on the long coffee and oaky finish. Beautifully pure and inviting, with sweeping acidity and soft, ripe tannins.
