Bodega Ruca Malen is a boutique winery in Mendoza, Argentina, producing elegant and stylish wines that have caught the eye of two of the top critics in South America: James Suckling and Tim Atkin. Their reimagined labels, "Capitulo Uno, Dos, Tres" are designed to show the progression of the purity of the grapes and vineyards, organic viticulture, and the terrior of Lujan de Cuyo and the Uco Valley. With Capitulo Uno, the wine sees no oak, made in an approachable way with good ripeness and juicy fruit, with notes of violets, berries and herbs. It has the textbook velvety palate with round tannins and is clean and approachable, easy to drink.
"Attractive aromas of freshly crushed blueberries and blackberries with hints of blue flowers, vanilla and pine nuts. Medium-to full-bodied with fine tannins and a soft, creamy texture. This is full of life, with fresh, juicy character. Delicious. Bright, fruity finish. Drink now." James Suckling, 93 Points
"Just fruit is how winemaker Agustina Hanna describes this unoaked Malbec from Agrelo, La Consulta, Los Árboles and Los Chacayes. Very good value at the price, it’s bursting with perfume and flavours, with smooth tannins, violet and blackberry fruit and refreshing, balancing acidity. 2022-26" Tim Atkin MW, 91 Points
