Incredible pedigree for a wine priced under $15, the Tapiz Alta is made by Jean-Claude Berrouet, who's made two of the most famous wines in the world: Chateau Petrus in Bordeaux and Dominus in Napa Valley. Even before Jean-Claude arrived at Tapiz, this was one of the most renowned and highly awarded wineries in Argentina. Their "Alta Collection" is sourced entirely from their sustainable San Pablo vineyard in the Uco Valley, at one of the highest altitude sites in Mendoza. This extreme altitude provides for warm days and cold nights, which impart concentration to the grapes and gives natural acidity.
"Cassis, dark-chocolate, walnut, sweet-tobacco and dried-orange aromas. It’s medium-to full-bodied with rounded, polished tannins. Creamy, rich and concentrated. Lots of dark-spice and chocolate layers. Drink from 2022." James Suckling, 94 Points
