A Wine Enthusiast Winery of the Year and the country's longest, continuously operated family-owned winery, Wente Family Vineyards is one of our top selling labels from California. Their Morning Fog Chardonnay 2022 is a great expression of the breathtaking Livermore Valley, with diverse alluvial fans of soil consistently creating white wines with beautiful and lingering minerality, which coupled with the natural acidity from the long and cool growing season, creates a beautifully balanced wine. If you're a fan of California Chardonnay with just a touch of toasted oak, the Morning Fog is fermented in half stainless steel and half neutral French and American oak barrels. The barreled portion is then aged "sur lie" for five months to impart that classic buttered texture and richness, balanced by the wine's natural acidity. A perfect, crowd pleasing Chardonnay for the holidays!
"Nectarine, peach blossom, and chamomile generously spreads across the palate. Midpalate notes of papaya and gardenia develop into a tropical paradise, followed by a caress of vanilla custard on the balanced finish." The Tasting Panel, 92 Points
"A haze of marzipan-like aroma and green spices from the wood before notes of ripe, sliced apples and waxed lemons come through. Medium to full body with some roasted almond and fennel in the center palate. Fresh, with moderate acidity and a phenolic, oak-spiced finish. Drink now. Screw cap." James Suckling, 90 Points
"This finds a remarkable balance between the juicy lemon and pineapple flavors and the notes of spice and toast, with a touch of vanilla paste. The harmony between these elements really sings on the fresh, vibrant finish." The Wine Spectator, 90 Points
"Lively aromas of jasmine and pineapple are tropical, yet show restraint on the nose of this bottling. Those tropical elements add flavors of coconut and plumeria on the palate, as the vibrant acidity causes the wine to dance across the tongue." The Wine Enthusiast, 90 Points
