Cru Bourgeois in the Haut Medoc, and one of the top values of the left bank, the Chateau Cambon La Pelouse is a ready-to-drink Bordeaux from the 2017 vintage! Situated at the southern tip of the appellation, not far from Chateau Cantemerle and Chateau Giscours, the vineyards are planted with an almost 50/50 split of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. In fact, Cambon La Pelouse is known to carry some of the highest percentages of Merlot for a left bank Bordeaux, which works perfectly for the 2017 vintage. They hired the well-respected Hubert de Bouard of Chateau Angelus to consult at the vineyard, and since these changes were made, the estate has been on an impressive trajectory as of late, with scores climbing to the mid-90s. Wine Spectator Top 100 of 2020, don't miss this amazing Bordeaux!
"This estate in the southern part of the Haut-Médoc region has produced a powerfully dense wine. Luscious black fruits and concentrated tannins are lifted by the year's wood aging. Licorice and a firm edge of tannin give this wine the structure to allow it to age. Drink from 2023. Cellar Selection." The Wine Enthusiast, 92 Points
"This packs in some bramble, black cherry and blackberry fruit flavors, harnessing them with a singed alder frame and keeping them moving along with fresh acidity. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Drink now through 2025. 13,333 cases made. Top 100 of 2020." The Wine Spectator, 90 Points
