One of the most sought-after values in Bordeaux, Chateau Marjosse is the personal vineyard of the famed Pierre Lurton, managing director for Cheval Blanc and d'Yquem! A hidden gem in our portfolio, the 2019 Marjosse is made up of 80% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc with a splash of old vines Malbec from his personal estate close to Saint Emilion. Rich, deep and beautifully layered in the glass, the 2019 is incredibly appealing. He's dialed back the production lately and it's paid huge dividends with the quality of his "little wine" starting with the 2018 vintage. Master of Wine Lisa Perrotti-Brown, the former editor of the Wine Advocate just listed Chateau Marjosse as the top QPR in all of Bordeaux. We can't think of another $15 Bordeaux with this amazing pedigree. Don't miss it!
"Expressive notes of raspberry coulis, wild blueberries, and boysenberries, plus suggestions of clove oil, garrigue, and crushed rocks. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is taut and muscular, delivering intense black fruit and savory layers with a firm backbone of fine-grained tannins, finishing long and refreshing." Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW, 93 Points
"The 2019 Marjosse has a come-hither nose of kirsch, stewed black cherries and warm plums with hints of spice cake, wilted roses, oolong tea and Sichuan pepper. The medium-bodied palate is plushy textured with bags of scrumptious black and red fruits and a lively backbone, finishing fragrant." The Wine Advocate, 90-92 Points
"Plenty of berries, walnuts and light dried tobacco and herbs. Medium body, lightly chewy tannins and a flavorful finish." James Suckling, 91-92 Points
