Chateau Roc de Boisseaux is located on the sand and gravel soils in the south of the village of Saint-Emilion. This terroir’s potential had been noticed for decades by some of the greatest winemakers of the right bank. Their vineyards covers 8 hectares with traditional varieties of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Since the arrival of the Rivoal family, with the technical support of Hubert de Boüard and Philippe Nunes, the property has produced the best vintages in their history.
"A blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, the 2018 Roc de Boisseaux has a medium to deep garnet-purple color and offers up scents of baked blackberries, raspberry tart and blackberry preserves with nuances of espresso, underbrush and bay leaves plus a waft of fungi. Medium to full-bodied, it gives plenty of savory, muscular fruit and a chewy texture with just enough freshness and an herbal lift on the finish." The Wine Advocate, 90-92 Points
"This rich, juicy wine has an attractive proportion of Cabernet Franc in the blend. With dark tannins and spice balancing black-plum fruits, it is a fine example of this powerful vintage. Drink from 2024." The Wine Enthusiast, 92 Points
