A highlight in Wine Spectator's Insider Weekly, the Colene Clemens Margo 2021 is once again the most impressive Oregon Pinot Noir Under $35. Since 2005, Colene Clemens has been matching the elegance and terroir of the Chehalem Mountain AVA with classic aromas of rich red and black fruits, baking spice, and a palate featuring a core of rich blackberry and blueberry preserves. Winemaker Stephen Goff, previously at Beaux Frères, has been in command since 2006, and has remarkably been the only winemaker they've had in 15 years. High marks for consistency as the Margo has 94 point ratings in the Wine Spectator the last three vintages!
"A wine of depth and presence, this Pinot slowly unfolds with an elegant intensity that highlights blueberry and raspberry flavors, laced by crushed stone and savory tarragon as this builds toward medium-grained tannins." The Wine Spectator, 94 Points
"A medium ruby color, the 2021 Pinot Noir Margo is spicy and floral with ripe raspberry, potpourri, fresh rose petal, woodsy spice, and moss-covered earth. The palate takes on a more savory profile, with iron-rich earth, orange peel, and energetic citrus oils through the palate, and it has a more coiled feel in its youthful state, with a long finish." Jeb Dunnuck, 94 Points
"This has aromas of raspberries, cranberries, watermelon rind, lavender and rosemary stems. Some green olive. It’s medium-bodied, mineral and sleek with a delicious sweet and salty character. Seamless tannins. Persistent." James Suckling, 93 Points
