Interesting wines for interesting people. That's how Four Vines describes their bottles, and after launching customer favorites like The Biker Zinfandel and Naked Chardonnay, we were super excited to get our hands on their Monterey Pinot Noir aptly named "The Maverick." Grown in the shadow of a long dormant volcano in Edna Valley, the warm, sunny days are followed by chilly afternoon winds that sweep across the Salinas Valley from Monterey Bay. This dramatic daily cooling keeps the grapes on the vines well into the season, intensifying varietal character while keeping acid levels high. Pinot Noir thrives here, getting enough sunshine to fully ripen, yet also benefitting from cool coastal influences. These are graceful and balanced wines. Silky smooth and juicy on the palate, the Maverick is vibrant and expressive with elegant flavors and crisp acidity. Amazing under $10 a bottle!
"The Maverick opens with bright aromas of raspberry, cranberry and sweet floral notes. Silky, ripe and fresh on the palate, this bottle offers a lengthy finish of red fruit and subtle cherry cola notes." The Wine Buyer, 92 Points
