An Oregon winery to watch, Soléna matches the elegance and terroir of Willamette's Yamhill-Carlton and McMinnville AVAs, producing classically styled Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Laurent Montalieu & Danielle Andrus originally purchased the 80-acre estate to commemorate their marriage, and in 2002, launched Soléna after Laurent ended his eight year tenure as head winemaker at WillaKenzie. Danielle is wine royalty, the daughter of Gary Andrus, who founded Napa Valley's Pine Ridge in the 1970s. After growing up among the vines, Danielle moved to Oregon and opened the Archery Summit Winery. Naming the family project Soléna after their daughter, the Grande Cuvee exhibits a youthful exuberance, with lively aromas of tart cherries, strawberries and cranberries.
"This tense, structured red offers layered blueberry and cherry flavors accented by notes of black tea and dusky spices. Finishes with medium-grained tannins. Drink now through 2032." The Wine Spectator, 91 Points
